Bio
Born in New York but raised in North London, I grew up listening to my parent’s old 12”s – everything from The Beatles & Talking Heads to Mozart & Roy Orbison – and whatever was on the radio. But when I started at Lancaster University (studying International Relations & Strategic Studies) one of my friends lent me a copy of Daft Punk - ‘Homework’ and Cassius - ‘1999’, everything changed.
I was immediately hooked on house music and set about learning all I could about dance. Between 1997 and 2011 I went from teaching myself how to DJ on a CD player (not CDJ) and belt-drive turn-table running the club night & record label, Like-Minded People presents, and DJing around the world as the LMP DJs with my friend, Adam K.
As well as DJing I work in the music industry. I started off as a radio plugger (persuading record labels to play music made by my clients and their labels) and then moved in to radio production, making shows for BBC Radio 1 and other broadcasters. Over the years I’ve produced the likes of Judge Jules, Fergie, Roger Sanchez, Dave Pearce, Toddla T, Skream & Benga, and many more.
I have now semi-retired from DJing - still playing the odd gig here and there, but only for fun rather than money. The rest of my time is spent running my production company, Grape. We make radio/audio/video/whatever you need for broadcasters, brands and individuals.
