2011 has been an interesting year for me, musically. At the end of last year I started to tire of the style of house and techno I’d been playing out in clubs for the last few years - quite straight 4:4 house & electro - and realised I wanted a change. Adam K & I (amicably) decided topart ways and I left the LMP DJs. On the 1st of Jan 2011 I ditched all the CDs in my DJ wallet and went on a mission to find new music that did excite me.

Since then I’ve semi-retired from DJing. I still play the odd party here and there for mates but I’m never going to go back to DJing as much as I did when I was one 1/2 of the LMP DJs. And I’m happy with that. But partly as a consequence (i.e. I don’t spend all my time trawling the net just for new club music and am now trawling for all ‘good’ music ) I’ve broadened my musical tastes this year.

Anyway, to get to the point, I thought I’d share my top 50 tunes of 2011:
